Summers are pretty hot and sultry making it a bit inconvenient to travel during summers. The summers start in the month of March and continue until June. Once the monsoon showers start, the weather becomes a bit pleasant. There is moderate rain if you do not mind unexpected showers, and then this weather is perfect for you. However, the best time to visit is in autumn and winter i.e. from September to February. The weather is absolutely beautiful and perfect to travel and explore the whole region.

What to eat?

The tribal cuisine in Dadra and Nagar Haveli is mostly based on pulses and grains, with locally available vegetables. River fish is a staple in the cuisine in this region. Most common river fish are rohu, Katla and mrigals are cooked in local spices. One of the must-try dishes is Ubadiyu – which is made up of mixed vegetables and beans cooked in an earthen pot with local herbs. It is very similar to Gujarati Undhiyu. The food here is very similar to Gujarati and Maharashtrian cuisine. But the taste has a unique flavour and cooking method, making it worth trying. Other items are Khaman and Gamthi chicken.
